    Not true! My modem never rebooted, just dropped connections, got worse with downloads. The DC output with all of the harmonic noise and ripple resembled raw 1/2 wave DC power, no filtering whatsoever.

    What do you suggest, Stitch194?

    Up until about 5 weeks ago there were no problems with two PCs using the same modem/router; I can't understand what has since changed. Our flat is relatively small, and both computers are not physically very far from the modem/router.

    When I lose the connection, if I run the troubleshooter I always get:

    A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken Detected
    Problem with wirelss adapter or access point Fixed

    I normally don't have to run the troubleshooter because the connection returns after about 30-45 seconds.

    I can look into getting a separate access point, but I'd like to be sure it is absolutely necessary first.
