    I did the tracert.. but all I got was "request timed out" every hop for 30 hops.

    Have you tried the Network Reset? It clears up a lot of nagging problems fast.

    Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Network Reset , down at the bottom
    Restart the PC when it finishes.
