For what it's worth ... I'm in the US and use FireFox ... TeamViewer Windows Download for Remote Desktop access and collaboration works for me.

See below clearly says en which is what you get sent to if you type in teamviewer.com from the UK.

Thanks for all your replies. Just to reiterate: My daughter's computer has Ubuntu on, not Win10 (I have, but I cannot access Win Store); and neither of us can access .COM/EN, on ANY web browser. However, I can access .US . Is there any difference between the US version and the European/British version?

Probably not - just check that the certificate (on the padlock in your browser) and the downloaded program when you try to install it are owned by TeamViewer as in earlier post.

If you are having problems accessing sites you may want to try changing your DNS. I use 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) - there are links to tutorials below. My ISP blocks access to some websites (thepiratebay etc) which is resolved by doing this but why your ISP would block access to TeamViewer website I don't know - it isn't disreputable in the slightest.

Teamviewer is fine, however some of the people using it in scams are not, which could I suppose be a reason for blocking the site.

Thanks Ix07. However, running through the tutorial you pointed to, shows my settings are automatic as suggested by the tutorial anyway. But I did try your suggestion of CloudFlare and this worked. My questions would be, what are the security risks, and how do I now what DNS is accessed automatically, anyway?

I only changed to Cloudflare as I read it was faster/had better privacy. It was only by coincidence I then noticed my ISP (Orange, France) had been blocking some websites - it wasn't the reason I changed. Why your ISP (whatever that is) is blocking TeamViewer I've no idea. Perhaps @clam1952 is correct but if I worked for TeamViewer (which I don't) I'd be a bit miffed as they are a legitimate company not scam artists.

You could check and see if they block other similar sites (Webex or LogMeIn for example) if you were interested to see if your ISP has a beef with TeamViewer in particular or remote access sites in general.

To reiterate, I use both WebEx and TeamViewer and I think both are secure and safe and both work much the same. Only difference is WebEx isn't free even for home use but some clients I connect to require it while others for whatever reason prefer TeamViewer.

From a quick Google, Last year UK ISP TalkTalk were blocking Team Viewer due to use by scammers but subsequently lifted it and then blocked it again in December 2017.
@Matt316 not got TalkTalk as an ISP by any coincidence?

clam1952, it's funny you should mention that. Yes, I am with TalkTalk.

WebEx and LogMeIn work, but TeamViewer (com/en) still doesn't, unless I change to another (CloudFlare). Interestingly, join.me, which is part of LogMeIn, doesn't.

I'm happy to move, but I'd like to know which is the safest, etc. (In deed, what else should I look out for when changing.)
