    Devolo problems

Am running a Devolo 550+ with one additional slave. I am now trying (unsuccessfully so far) in adding a further slave - a 650+. As the main unit is slightly difficult to access I have sited the 650 next to the 550+ slave and pressed the appropriate buttons. However, the 650+ Ethernet light does not light up. If I open Cockpit the 650+ shows up but the Ethernet icon is not lit up green (which I assume it should) although the Power and Home icons are green. It also shows a connection speed. I thought perhaps this is how it should be but if I switch off the 550+ slave then the only connection showing on tablet or laptop is the main Devolo unit. Am I missing something or is the 650+ unit u/s?

Further investigation shows that if I connect an Ethernet cable from the 650+ to Laptop everything is fine and the Ethernet light on the cockpit shows green. So the problem is just the wireless side.

Try updating the firmware on all the units.

Have double checked and all firmware up to date. Just disconnected the Ethernet cable and immediately the Ethernet light goes out.

One other thing, I do not see the "Configuration page of the adapter" icon. It does appear on the 550+ slave.

Make sure the 650+ is NOT connected to the mains power socket through a multi plug or extension leads. (It needs to be connected straight on to a mains socket)

If it still does not work, perhaps also try to make the 650+ join the network as shown below.

If the Push-Button-Configuration doesn't work, try to connect the dLAN 650+ over the software devolo cockpit. In order to add the new adapter to your existing devolo network, follow the below steps:

Start our Cockpit-software (make sure it is the latest version), in one of the working pc.
The devolo network of your other paired device should be shown above the Cockpit logo.

Note down the Sec-ID (located on the back of the 650+) of your new adapter.

On the left next to the Cockpit logo please choose "Add Device" and enter your device's Sec-ID.

After a moment, the new device will appear in Cockpit with your other devices.
This way the new device should be included in the already existing network.

I had tried that many times but did so again. I have 2 650's sitting side by side on the same ring circuit. Both were switched on and then I entered the appropriate ID's but they didn't show up, just a message saying not found etc. So, I switched them both off and then on and they both appeared in Cockpit. They both work using an Ethernet cable despite one not showing any lights but neither show as a wireless connection point.

Just installed inSSIDer and it does not show any WiFi devices.

You could try contacting Devolo support by email: support@devolo.com

They normally answer with step by step instructions once you have described the problems you are having.
( Although they may still ask you to perform the steps you already have! )

    Best of luck.
