HELP!!! IP Settings is missing in SSID

    Hi folks,

This is my first post in tenforms.
I have a question about Windows 10 wifi feature.
As you know, in win10 each SSID can set different IP settings. Not network adapter setting.
But, I have a problem with one of my friend win 10 PC. In this win10 pc, IP settings field is missing in the SSID setting.
How to get this IP settings in SSID. And why it does not show in this pc ?
    Please see attached image.
    Thank you.

It is showing your ipv4 address, this can be changed in the router. Try stating your 'problem' more clearly...

From above screen, if user click "edit", user can set static IP for SSID "YM-Room". This is not network adapter setting.

This setting can define IP settings for each SSID.
Example, your office Wifi do not provide IP address. When user try to connect to office Wifi, they can set static IP address for office wifi. When user is at home (home wifi with dhcp), user can connect home wifi without change static IP to dynamic IP because it is SSID based IP Settings.

This feature first appears in 16226 build. Look in the Update and Security section and click on OS Build on the right side, what is the version number of friends Windows 10? Ok, so when you click on Manual and it shows you ipv4 and ipv6, both are set to off, correct?
Turn on ipv4 and set the parameters. Save. Turn on ipv6 and set parameters. Save.

    Hey gipzy07,
Here ya go .... Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16226 for PC Insider - Windows 10 Forums

When you right-click the network icon in the system tray, “Open Network and Sharing Center” will now open Network & Internet Settings.

Note: I'm sure aware that MS is migrating stuff from Control Panel to the new Settings, but most of them are still accessible thru Control Panel (basically duplicates)

    Hi Eagle51 ,
Thanks for the link about Build 16226.
But, I still don't find information regarding wireless SSID IP settings or new Networking settings in Build 16226. All I see about networking is xbox networking and SMB1.
Anyway, I will check this pc win 10 version first.
    Thanks.

The difference between Static and Dynamic is simple. You set your Modem up with a WAN DHCP Dynamic Settings and then set your network adapter on PC for IPV4 and IPV6 to automatic. No need to mess with Static IP's.

As for SSID for Wireless, you simply turn it on in router or modem/router to show the SSID for discovery. You can also name your SSID if you choose to do so.

Here is a simple Article for setting it up.

Always reboot modem and restart all PC's on your Network when making changes.

For SSID and encryption key, look in the Wireless section in your Modem/Router.
