    Password for Shared Drive

Win 10 recently did update. Since then I have been asked for a password to access a shared folder on our other computer. I don't know what password it wants. I have been using this shared folder for months, maybe years without a password. Where can I find it, change it, disable it?

The upgrade changes some settings in Network & Sharing Centre back to their default values.
Open Network and Sharing Centre, Advanced sharing settings, and change the "all networks" section, turn on sharing, and turn off password-protected sharing.

Hey man, just a note to say that in Feb 2021 this helped me out a LOT. I don't play with these settings enough to remember what I did, so when something goes wrong it's always re-learning the whole thing from scratch. Very nice to find a 1-2-3 solve that works.

Windows often changes these setting back to default as its safer and more secure with no password any virus can spread

I suppose... But it's undoing work that people have spent time setting up. And they offer the feature, if they do why muck it up later? I only share one folder, and that folder only has apks, .zip file repositories (for kodi), etc. I use it once a year or so; I got tired of walking thumb or sd drives back and forth between the two devices.

Maybe I'll look at sharing an Nvidia Shield/Kodi folder to PC instead of the other way around. Maybe that would be smoother...
