    'Network Name' Change? (Screenshots incl.)

    Hey guys.

I'm wondering how I go about changing the "network profile" name set when connected to Ethernet on Windows 10. My WiFi SSID is "Skynet", but on my Local Area Connection network profile name it shows "Skynet 2". Is there a way I can change this to something else?

It requires Registry editing to change the name but here is how to do it:

Why can't you just change the name from the network/internet settings? Go to settings/network&internet/ethernet/change adapter options/right click ethernet/change name.

That changes only one part of the name. When you view it afterwards it will still have the name he wants to change and the name you give it with your instructions.

Done it, thank you. I had a lot of network profiles in the registry so I deleted them all and rebooted.
