Then right click the share that is failing, click stop sharing. After that, right click in the space there and click on New Share. one thing we can all agree on though is Windows networking is still a hideous mess -- nearly everybody these days wants to share files / stream audio / video from servers / NAS boxes, use phones / tablets / smart TV's etc on a LAN and it appears that the same solutions often don't work twice.

I'd suggest that Ms gets some top level Network gurus and locks them into a room with a typical home type of Lan (not a clean corporate one) and doesn't let them out until the whole thing is working 100%. Devices must include W10 / W7 / XP /Apple MacBook / Android phone / iPhone / Smart TV / Amazon fire TV box / Linux NAS box and a QNAP NAS box.

System must work consistently at least 6 times after booting the odd computer / device -- only then would I send the product out of the door for general release.

Not surprised why about 85% of cloud / other commercial servers use some type of Linux (Red Hat, Suse, and Centos being the most popular with some ubuntu servers too).

I've been a bit pissed about some of the things MS has done as they try to bully their way around their operating system. I feel I've got less control.
Just an example: I have one PC set up as a HTPC and it's set to auto log on and almost every update that comes out, the auto log on is switched back to default. Not a big deal at all but just proof to me that they want all the control.
Not really related to this topic but look what they've done to networking. Sure,it's likely for a good cause to help prevent problems such as hacking or whatever but, it's my box, why can't I do what I want with it?

Honestly, I don't see any difference once I use Computer Management to share.I can see the other shares each folder still gives me the Access Denied message. There are folders that do work, just not all of them. For instance. If I have 4 drives in a system and share them all. They all get shown but only one drive can be access. I access that drive but not all the folders in it will allow access. Some do, some don't. It makes no sense.

I think I'm going to take a break on this for a bit as it really isn't all that important to me. Just my nerdy OCD that says, "this should work, why doesn't it". I think this afternoon I'll have some homebrew and let me brain rest as I enjoy some adult hoppage and revisit this later. I'll check in to see what's happening and report if anything changes.

Just a few examples. Before trying the suggestions here, I couldn't even see the computer and now I can see all the shared drives. But, as you can see, I'm locked out.

Thanks again. I did have it set just for folders and it makes no difference. I'll try the second option and see how it goes.
