    Yes. If turning SMBv1 off, you will need the service on auto delayed start for it to work. With SMBv1 on, it will work just fine on manual.

    I actually have SMBv1 turned on for one of my PC. If I stop the FDRP service, it disappears from the other PC's Network browsing. I think SMBv1 actually makes the service run where as it does not run properly when you turn off SMBv1.
    I just tried it and yes I can see the other systems, but when I tried to access them, I kept receiving a "No Network Path" error message. Probably requires more trouble shooting than I wanted to do. Also, my NAS storage was un-seen as well as my ReadyShare (Router storage). I assume I could make them into Network Drives ? Since I need to be visible so that I can continue to save the Security images that the cameras create, I'll be switching back and activate SMBv1.

    @storageman

    Although I agree fully with @Access Denied there is one caveat - if you are connecting to some "older" Linux distros or devices with embedded Linux systems, (TVs, Media Centres, Etc), you may have issues connecting without SMBv1

    Well maybe this is were I'm confused. The NAS box is new (less than 2 months old) and has to be Linux based (looking at what is installed on it), so its not old, but its not seen by any of my W10 systems when SMBv1 is disabled. Maybe they are all behind the times I don't know ?

    Thanks for commenting.

    SMB is a Microsoft software specifically to interface with the old UNIX systems. the original ones in UNIX/Linux do not have the vulnerability of the microsoft software so is still in use.

    Of course the majority of the changes needed in SMBv1 were already built in to Windows 10 and there was one minor addition by update when the wannacry hit, so running it on windows 10 is no longer a high risk - indeed it was those places that ignored their update schedules, and were running XP and upatched Win7 that were hit

    You need to set two services to automatic (delayed start):

    Function Discovery Provider Host
    Function Discovery Resource Publication

    Right click Start, click on Run towards the bottom. type services.msc in the Run box and press enter to open the Services List. Scroll down until you find those two. Set them to automatic (delayed start). Then right click and start them both. That PC will now show up. Do this on each of your PC. Then your network will display as you like.

    Hope this helps. :)
    YOU ARE THE MAN!!

    Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.. I was going crazy after the 1803 Update. I can now see all PC's on my network again in Explorer.
