I reckon that you also want to disable "Server" service - service name is LanmanServer and set start up type to disabled.

I sometimes run this just to check:

Net Share Monitor - Free Network Shared File Monitoring Software | www.SecurityXploded.com

All tabs should be empty. Disable option to run on startup.

On another note from your previous post ...

I just realized that i had set my wireless network to public for years. I have set it to private now though.
The words Public and Private in this context refer to the Network Type and are mainly related to the Firewall settings.

They work in the reverse of the way you would expect

In this context, the firewall will shut the networking ports in the firewall if the setting is Public. [eg you are sat in a public coffee shop], but if the setting is Private will open the ports as you are in a safer network [At Home]

Yeah - this has confused people for years.

Public here means more closed made worse by the use of term public folders which are more open to all users. MS consistency at its finest !

There used to be. Black Viper even had it listed for Windows 10. It's not in my English-language system (16299.402) either.

If your using wireless there is often a simplified way of doing this most routers under wireless settings have a setting user isolation or similar name which allows internet but no LAN it's security so if someone breaks into the network they can't back your PC's

If you're not seeing the Computer Browser in Services ....
The Computer Browser service relies on SMBv1 and the browser service is uninstalled if the SMBv1 client or server is uninstalled.

    Getting rid of shared folders?

I got a shared files folder in my users folder. I want to disable sharing completely and get rid of the folder.
