Having trouble with port forwarding..

    Hi folks

    Have you enabled / opened the ports on your router

    Routers have a decent firewall too - you need to go to settings-->security or something like that --then you'll find the port settings.

    Mine looks like this

    Easy to check if it's working -- if you have a laptop and another machine on same network try and RDP from one machine to the other -- if you don't have a spare machine try it with a VM --used BRIDGED networking though in the VM's setup.

    That is what the thread has been all about. We just missed one little thing. OP use xDSL rather than ETH WAN and accidentally the selection was on ETH so the routing got assigned to wrong port/plug. Port forwards were assigned to act on bit-heaven packets instead of the internet packets.

    All should be in working order now.
