    Blocking Netflix off my router, possible?

    I've had success in blocking all other IPs and domains on my router but this has boggled my mind.

    I want to block netflix traffic in my router. The problem is, netflix is in an app form in my sister's iPhone and I have no luck in doing so because so many new IPs from netflix appear whenever I track it down.

    Is there a way to block it off from an app? I don't want to be even more rude by doing bandwidth control (Which I have done, set her device's IP speed to a mere 150kbps0.

    Hi there
    @RoasterMen

    why not set up an Internet gateway or Proxy so all Internet in your house goes through the proxy --then you can examine / refuse the website (you get a log of all web sites visited etc). Just throw up a message saying "This site is not available" or something like that.

    Of course if She's using a smart phone then that won't work if she gets Netflix by 4G i.e not via your Internet --but then presumably that's on her own bill. !!!!!

    Plenty on Google about Internet gateways / proxies. I do that in my home - visiting youngsters if they want to watch porno or access pirate bay etc can do it from somebody else's house !!! not mine- but I'm running that from a Linux server -- however it works from a bog standard Windows machine --another advantage is you can control hours of access too.

    Cheers

    You may find you have better results by moving the Block "Off Site" by taking it to an external DNS server/service

    Home Internet Security | OpenDNS

    Is one I have used in the past and the classic free option gives controlled access to various Social Media and streaming sites.

    I've not used it for a while and does work best if you use their DNS servers, (they're better than most ISP based servers IMO anyway), but could be worth a look, if they include netflix then it's a tick a box and it's done
