Cannot get the Join Domain option

I am an administrator and I did expose the hidden Administrator. When I go to Settings | About, I do not get the Join Domain option.

    Am I missing a step?

    Many thanks for any help...

It's not in Settings > About.

Only Pro (and above) can join a Domain, in Home the domain settings are either missing or greyed out. If you have Pro, see this tutorial.

I am running Windows 10 Pro with Samba implemented on a Red Hat (Centos 7) server. Unfortunately the Centos server had to be reinstalled due to an operator error, however my LAN was working before that and I use to see the Domain name on the Win 10 box (WEB01). Samba is using the same settings as before:

    # See smb.conf.example for a more detailed config file or# read the smb.conf manpage.# Run 'testparm' to verify the config is correct after# you modified it.[global] workgroup = WEB01 security = user passdb backend = tdbsam printing = cups printcap name = cups load printers = yes cups options = raw

I cannot find where to verify or setup the WEB01 Domain on the Win 10 computer.

At you sure you were using a Domain before? See if setting the Workgroup puts you back where you were.

I believe you are correct about not being a Domain - I am not running a Domain Controller (like I did a long time ago). So I have managed to tie myself up in a knot with getting the Samba on the Centos 7 set up correctly as well as the Windows 10 Pro. Are there some diagnostics I can run on the Win box that can help me get an idea of what is preventing me from "seeing" the Centos 7? The list is long: security on either the Centos or Windows, improper setup on either and many more.

Looks like all you need to do is set the PC to be in the WEB01 Workgroup as described in this tutorial. It's in the WORKGROUP workgroup at present, which is why you don't see the server.

Still trying to work through it...have the WorkGroup set to WEB01. No doubt some little things, as it always it.

You may need to enable SMB 1.0 CIFS Client in Windows Features, it's off by default.
