Network Computers are no longer showing on my Windows 10 Desktop

I have a couple different servers on my home network. I have an UnRAID machine that I'm using for my NAS. I have a FreeNAS machine that I'm using as a dedicated Plex Media Server. And, I have an OpenMediaVault machine that I'm using as a dedicated music server/iTunes machine.

Earlier today, I restarted my Windows 10 Pro desktop and now I can no longer see them under my "Network". I can see them on my Windows 10 laptop. I can also see them on my iPad and my phone, a Galaxy Note 8 running android. They're all on and working and I can access them through their respective IP address.

Things I've tried so far...

Restarted the desktop (this seems to work the best when one of the machines was missing in the past)
Restared the servers.
Restarted my router.

On my desktop, I have had network discovery on the whole time. I've also made sure that the DNS Client, Function Discovery Resource Publication, SSDP Discovery, and UPnP Device Host were still set to "Automatic".

Since I can see them on my laptop, I'm convinced there's a setting on my desktop that needs to be changed. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

It could be that SMBv1 got uninstalled on your Desktop. Just for comparison, on your Laptop and Desktop check if SMBv1 is installed.
Control Panel > Program & Features > Turn Windows Features On/Off > SMB 1.0 / CIFS File Sharing Support

Note:
SMBv1 is deprecated by MS and I don't know if you even need it.
Most NAS devices you can set which SMB version they use, so you might want to check that.

So it was checked on my laptop and unchecked on my desktop. Now that it's checked on my desktop, it see the whole network. You're saying I should just remove it and each server device will set which SMB version they'll use automatically?

No, I'm referring to just the SMB 1.0/CIFS Automatic Removal, that MS added to remove SMBv1 when it deprecated it.

I assume SMBv1 was deprecated due to security issues. But what are we supposed to do in the meantime to see our network attached PCs and Devices?

1. Yes, SMBv1 was deprecated due to security concerns (it was patched) and because it's an old technology.
2. You can map a network drive for shared folders.

If I turned SMBv1 off on all the W10 PCs would that also work (to bring back the Network List)?

1. Hard to say, it would depend on ALL PC's and Devices on your network and what SMB version they use.
2. You can always give it a try and see what happens :)

What are the risks of continuing to run W10 PCs with SMBv1 enabled on a Home Network?

1. All tho SMBv1 was patched (I think it was for WannaCry), there is always a risk using deprecated/old technology.
2. With that said, IMO the risk is fairly low on a home network.

Note: I currently have to use SMBv1, due to fact that I use an old NetGear router and it's USB File Sharing which only supports SMBv1
