In Device Manager, Network Adapters, right click it and select properties. See if you have a 'Power Management' tab. If you do, uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' if you have it.

Or, if it looks like this uncheck energy efficient ethernet

Ok, this issue is still giving me fits. it appears that about every 6 hours something turns my internet off on this one computer. This started happening about 2 weeks ago.
I put in a new Nic Intel 1210, the built-in 1218-V was apparently still working.
    Broadcom 802.11AC working
When this happens it is only the internet that is being shut off and it does require a reboot to get the internet online again.
It happens with any of the three NIC I have on this desktop listed above.

My P2P network 3 desktops 1 notebook stay up. I am able to access drives and transfer file from this computer and the other 3 still have internet access.

So that isolates the problem to this computer only. the other three still have internet and network so that should eliminate a cable modem problem or an Asus AC1900 router problem.
I suspect the issue started with the KB4056892 update, I did install the KB4073290 update that did fix some other issues I was having. It took me a few days to notice this internet problem. I have images that I can restore from before those update but be going back that far world cause issues with my business.
I Have Sleep shut off using gpedit setting
I have hibernation shut off in advanced setting power options. All my computer are on good UPS so I would know it hibernation was taking place. which really doesn't matter since yesterday the internet shut off as I was online and using it.

So somewhere there has to be some setting that is telling my internet to turn off every 6 hours or so. Causing me to reboot the computer to regain internet access.

This one really has me frustrated as I need to access this computer remotely from time to time and I can not do this without it being on the internet.

As sort os my last stab at it, check Scheduled Tasks and see if you have anything that may be causing your issue. Is it the 6 hours you mention or certain times? If you are pretty set in your habits where you turn it on about the same time every day, it could be a set time it turns off. Hope I explained that right.

Failing that, try to start up in Safe Mode with Networking and see if it still happens.
