    Interesting Read:

    Recently Jared L. wanted to extend his wireless from his home to his shop. He flashed his older WRT router and bridged it to his home router and now it goes over 360′ into the metal shop. Here’s what you do to bridge it

    Hi there
    @Callender

    Thanks for the info

    problem wasn't extending range of Wifi !!! it was not getting my 1 Gb/s speed out of it. !!!!! The Lan cable to shed is the solution I'm going with

    Out in the Wellies in around 1hr or so
    -- I've got cable and tools and it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours at most.

    At this time of year I only get reasonable daylight between around 11.00 and 16:30 GMT - and it's actually +2 deg today !!!! so no prob for me.

    Cheers

    Just lay the quality Lan cable on top of the ice to the shed.
    One of the two days of the next summer you can put the cable in the ground.

    Hi there @Layback Bear

    All done now and got 4 X LAN with 1.2 Gb/s -- that's what I was looking for. Even Woman was happy -- she came out in the cold with nice "peace offering" -- warm dinner and nice alcoholic beverage !!!!

    my neighbours thought I was drilling for Geothermal possibilities !! -- although here electric bills are almost ZILCH -- we have enough energy in Iceland to really fulfil those 1960's concepts when Nuclear was supposed to be the best thing "Energy to cheap to Meter" -- that never panned out though did it.

    Geothermal and Hydroelectric here 100% environmentally friendly.

    Those old commercials though were fun.

    You folks have enough Geothermal and Hydroelectric energy to do just about anything that needs to be done and you need it with the winters you folks have.

    We need to figure out how to use hot air for energy. We have a large supply in Congress going to waist.
