I got this popup after running a test with the Beta version in Edge.
Edge and FF results were very close.

What is Ctl-printscreen? Just paste the URL into the body of the message? Because I tried that and all that appears is the link. I tried to insert the link using the image button above and nothing happened. It was blank.
Control + Print Screen keys will snap shot a image of your screen and places it in memory. Once the image is there, you can insert that image into a 10forums thread. To accomplish that, type your response what ever you were going to type. Then when you want to insert that screen image, hit Control + V keys. The image of your screen will be inserted in your reply message.

I've become a fan of TestMy.net Broadband Internet Speed Test . All browser, nothing to install and no flash used. They keep a database of all your prior tests too.

This one has a more thorough analysis. You may end up loving or... hating your internet provider.

    Hi there

the web service from ookla loads a lot of adverts and has some video so this must surely interfere with the result - even the beta version which doesn't use flash.

However IMO these tests only give a guideline --I'm not really interested if it shows upload as 995.3Mb/s or 1.01 Gb/s for example -- I just want to know if the recorded speed approximates to something like what the ISP service "alledges" to provide.

Otherwise it all reminds me of two Politicians ranting on "My Red Button is Bigger than yours" !!! I'm sure you all know who I'm referring to.

    Cheers

As long as you get above what you pay for that's all that matters :)

I have Verizon, so I use their speed test. Broadband Internet Speed Test by Verizon | Official Site

I heard Ookla speedtest.net and internet service providers (ISP) has a agreement to use the nearest ISP servers by Ookla speedtest.net for broadband speed test.
You can change it to any server anywhere in the world, they conveniently use the closest to you, to make it look good.

I change the server to Tokyo and my upload speed drops to 15 Mbps, but I don`t care about upload speeds to Tokyo :)

And here's one to the School District of Philadelphia.

I use the MS Store version of Speedtest by Ooka on my AT&T 1Gb Fiber and the default is the AT&T server in New Orleans. This is where my service feed originates from. This way I am just testing my service feed and not the rest of the worlds network. I get mid 900mbs in both directions so I am looking good. My U-verse TV also runs on this Fiber and the TV boxes use IP protocol also. Had it for a year and very pleased. Of course the test results vary if I test to other servers but that is influenced by the network path and the server. These tests give me a benchmark to compare results if I have problems. With any tool it depends on how you use it.
