How to setup a wired network between routers

    Hi there
I am trying to set up a wired network with the following:
Main router linked to internet = Asus DSL N66U with IP set to 192.168.1.1 (network 1)
I have then wired a link to the following
Tenda wireless N300 Router IP 192.168.1.1 (network 2)
I was not able to add it to the same network range as it would then not connect to the internet. I have a computer connected to network 1 and 2 connected to network 2. I, however, cannot see the network 1 computers from network 2 or visa versa. How should I set this up to allow all the PC's to be connected?

    Hi fionab

Disconnect your Tenda. Then log into to Tenda and set its address to 192.168.1.2. Shut off DHCP services.

Then reconnect the Tenda to the Asus only connect the wire from the Asus to one of the four (assume there are four) ports on the back on the Tenda. Do not connect it to the WAN port of the Tenda.

You may have to reboot devices connected to the Tenda.

What should wind up with is one large network using the address range 192.168.1.x. The Asus router will be in charge of the DHCP addresses. Since it is one large subnet all devices have the potential to see one another.

    Ken

Does it have to be 2 I see the printer is at that address or do I disconnect it and then let it get a new address?

Okay go high. Your ASUS is starting to hand out addresses at 2. So pick 200. So devices start handing out address at 10 or 100. No big deal.

We are giving it an address so you can change settings or passwords etc.

I'm wondering if OP doesn't also need to go into router config and select "AP mode" for this to work properly.
