I'm stuck and having this problem too. Google led me here.

After reading this thread, it seems like the only way to get rid of it is to reinstall an older version of Windows 10, delete it then, then update to the newest version of 10?

Has anyone found an alternative way to get rid of it? I don't think I have access to an older version of Windows since I just recently built this computer.

I've already tried re-installing all the default apps via powershell, but still can't do anything with "Get Office."

    Thanks in advance

Maybe it ll be removed after the critical and cumulative updates released in next month, and I don't think so, u may install the windows again and remove the app ( get office ) by uninstall it, and then if u wish to use it u may download it from the microsoft store called ( my office )

Reinstalling does nothing, I have replicated this error with two clean installs from scratch 16299.15 -> 16299.64

After reinstalling windows with perform a clean installation, remove the application without taken any updates from the microsoft store , by uninstall the app. Then take all the updates of windows and features and then install ( my office ) if u wanna use it , no way to remove it by any option another that

Good old MS strikes again, QA seems to be a forgotten word in their vocabulary. Anyway just to add to the list I am seeing the same. On both of our computers and on every single user account in each computer apart from one user. That being my own main user account on one of the machines. Seems like a bit of messing around to do away with get office so prob best to ignore it. But like many of you I am tired of MS and their lack of attention to detail. Tired of their ‘native apps’ and buggy store app / app update mechanism full stop. I’m pro windows over Apple any day. But maybe they need to take a leaf out of apple’s book, at least where ‘apps’ are concerned. I wish MS would focus on proper software and just forget the app/uwp nonsense.

MS recently downloaded MFC v 1709 on my system and neither one was included. Maybe I'm lucky having windows10 Home edition.

yea Willabong, I think the home edition a streamed down version to get you to upgrade when you hear other people talking about all the nice features in the other editions.

The truth is that there is nothing in the Pro version of W10 that I need or want, W10 home is perfect as it is!

    Get Office-screenshot-3-.png

Today after manually running some APP clean-up related Tasks this is what I got, still behaves just the same, click on it and it install My Office, My Office can be uninstalled no problem, but trying to uninstall this rogue ghost entry in the Start Menu goes nowhere.

I downloaded an audio driver last night from Microsoft Update Catalogue and this morning I noticed windows office had popped back up my start up menu. Granted it was just a shortcut to get Microsoft office, but I would hate to think that it was included in the download. Maybe it was just setting somewhere on my pc waiting to jump back on my starter list.
