Office 2010: maximum number of permitted activations

    .
I have Office 2010 with Win 10 Pro.

I used Macrium V7 to transfer a system image from one laptop to another.

When I try to use Office, I get message saying "maximum number of permitted activations". Do I simply need to remove the license from my previous laptop? If yes, how do I do that?

    Thanks.

Supposedly by uninstalling it from the old system.

How can I dectivate a licensed copy of MS Office 2010 Professional

My Office 2010 says a 3 PC licence.
You uninstall MS Office 2010 from the first PC to unlicence it and to re-use that licence for another PC, or use up one of the remaining installs if any.

Sounds reasonable. However, I'd better wait for a day or two to see if there are any "non-destructive" solutions :)

    Thanks.

I've just noticed that I haven't closed this thread.

I uninstalled Office 2010 from my oldest laptop.

I then used telephone automated activation. From memory, the only thing they asked me for was the 25-digit activation code.

I was then able to install on my newest laptop.

    Thanks for all responses.
