I tried the troublesome doc and it opened ok but it says trial version and I have to buy it, so I deleted it. MS Office cost enough to get that installed properly, so not spending any more in that corner of the ring. I have open office back in now anyway as a backup.

Weird.
I installed it and saved my calligraphy as docx.
It opened both in WPS Writer and MS Word 2007. No problem.
I did not see any mention of Trial or Buy It .

When I installed it, I saw this and I chose Free option and clicked Get started.

Wait, I see it now.
A box flashed open for brief seconds. I did not have enough time to read the whole message.
It said something like it's a trial version and I have 30 days. I did not have time to read the rest.
