Office Click to Run Color Changer -- Black, Gray, White, Colorful

This is a portable application which will apply a Black Theme to C2R Office programs. Every Office program (except Access) will open with the Black Theme no matter if you open the application, a saved document, or a shortcut to that document. Options are also included for each of the other color schemes in Office. You must have Office installed before you use it. This works with both 32 & 64 bit versions of Office and Windows.

It worked first. But after a day when I reopened my computer it was back to its previous colour. I tried again tour color changer but doesn't work now. Can you please help? I use windows 7 by the way if it's relevant.

Hmm, looks like you downloaded and installed a scam virus, which your AV didn't catch first time, but after an update to virus database, it did for the second time :) Lucky you are, these worms are quite sneaky and can do more damage than you could even imagine... Never install any attachment that says can change colours, unless you know it's from a reliable source. Which I believe ordinary forum user isn't...

And even it actually works - don't think it's the main purpose. The main purpose is some sneaky work behind. If not steal your passwords or correspondence (may install keylogger to your Office add-ons - highly convenient to steal office emails sent through Outlook), it may significantly slow down your computer...

Did you actually inspect the file before posting this? I reviewed the file in a VM, and its just a bat file making the registry changes mentioned earlier in the post so you don't have to edit them yourself. It utilizes subinacl.exe which pulls registry info. If the AV part of what you are saying is true, your AV would let you know that it blocked it. I have two AVs running on the VM with updated DAT files and nothing was found as well.

    Hi folks

seems to work fine (permanently) in latest updates to Office 2019 -- I don't bother with Office 2016 any more

    Cheers

Looks like Offices latest update made changing this registry key no longer work.

    Hi there
I think for Office 2016 it was only "experimental" and there were all sorts of registry fixes to get this to work after updates / etc.

It works permanently -- as it should have done originally by selecting the black theme in the options if you have office 2019 --probably the same if you have Office /365.

Actually myself I'm getting a bit sick of all these depressing "Black themes" now that seem all the rage --I've gone back to white type of themes -- the Black ones were fine at first but when you live in a country coming up to dark days of Autumn (Fall) and Winter - nice bright reminders of Summer etc IMO make for a much more cheerful experience. As for people using any sort of Blue text on a Black background and hoping to make it readable must have hideously calibrated colour on their monitors.

    Cheers

The "black" theme is only accessible if you have office 365 subscription, which my business does not. We bought 2016, why do we need a subscription to get access to a theme? It's ridiculous.

    Hi folks
sometimes experimental things are added to builds which are removed by a later update if they aren't functioning or cause undesireable side effects - although why on earth if they are working should they be removed is bonkers. I don't remember in Office 2016 that the black theme was causing any problems though

You might cheaply be able to upgrade to Office 2019 where Black theme is available. Otherwise I agree 100% with you. (suspiciously like Apple deliberately slowing down some models of iPhones after a certain period to get users to upgrade / buy new ones !!!).

    Cheers

So it's available in 2019 without a subscription? I might see if it's an option for us to upgrade... My eyes are very sensistive to very bright backgrounds, and they get more tired during a long day with very bright backgrounds.
