I'm sorry but this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Microsoft doesn't "blacklist" product keys. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
If I were to buy any "old" Microsoft product brand new (never activated before), for example, Windows Vista or Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, both would activate without any problems, even though Microsoft doesn't sell either officially anymore.
Product keys don't "expire". I've never heard of Microsoft doing this in their HISTORY. They wouldn't start now.
A product key is a product key and it never stops being one. MS doesn't know if/when software with a product key is "purchased". Like I said before, I could buy a shrink-wrapped Windows XP disc on a website and activate it without any problems.
