Office 365 Outlook Hang When Adding Attachment

    Good Day All

I have a question - Has anyone ever had this issue when using outlook , when adding an attachment , outlook will freeze and not respond for a while and then after waiting for a while will suddenly respond and work as normal

    Things to note :

This is a modern device - i5 , 8gb RAM , SSD - Latest Office Build and Updated Win 10
    No other apps open
    Attachment size is about 250KB

Has anyone ever had this or know where to check or what to clean if need be ?

Note this is a random occurrence - Does not happen always

Any steps would be appreciated ?

I haven't done a office repair yet - Quick or Full
I haven't cleared the Outlook Cache - Not exactly sure which cache to clear as there are multiple sources when searched for via the internet
Only thing i have done is a simple disk cleanup

    Hi ITGuy061

I don't have 365 but looking around , add-ins seem to be the most common cause for the delay.
I'm just going to copy\paste below: Step 5 you might want change a bit though.

    1. Click the File tab. The Microsoft Office Backstage view opens.

    2. Click Options; the Options dialog box appears.

    3. Click Trust Center, then click Trust Center Settings.

    4. In the Trust Center, click Add-ins.

    5. Select or clear the options that you want.

    Is there any pattern?
Does it freeze for longer with larger files?

Have you run CleanMgr to remove temp files?

    Hi All

It seems the size doesnt play as much of a role as it does it with even small files ( around 250KB )

I did do the disk cleanup method

Just wanted to know if there are any other cleanups i can perhaps perform ?

My next options would be either re-create the outlook profile or do a full MS office repair

I have not seen reports of your problem before but I'd:
    - run SFC SFC - TenForumsTutorials
    - Run an MSOffice repair Repair an Office application - MSSupport
in the hope that they'd help.

    Hi,
Some add-ons can cause this kind of issue.
Try to disable the latest add-ons you installed and see if there is any improvement.

    Welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]
