Yeh, I doubt whether (purely speculative) that the "new" outlook will behave the same as MS Outlook (as part of the MS Office suite) in relation to settings in/for the Mail app in the Control Panel. That would be too much to expect from Microsoft.

    I'll stand corrected ......

This thread is just another example of the futility of persisting with o/Outlook as an email client

It does not pull the info from the control panel/mail, instead I have to create a new account. What steps did you follow?
I hit Email Accounts >New >Your Name >Manual Setup and add personal /server details as required.

New Outlook should be under "Browsers and Email" being part of Windows 8/10/11.

New Outlook is in Beta, some features not working or not yet included.
Supposed to replace the Mail App end of 2024.

Your Comments. Errors should be sent to Microsoft. I installed it and did just that, currently uninstalled until later versions.

Outlook the desktop application is part of the MS Office suites is not the same, so your Regedit for that will not do anything.

Is that for the "new Outlook" app or for MS Outlook as in MS Office suite ? I think the OP is saying it doesn't work for the app.

Office suite, he wont have the Mail applet if he's using something different.
