    Hotmail/Desktop Outlook issues


    Hello, Desktop Outlook was working fine with 3 email accounts, aol, yahoo, hotmail, no issues, Friday hotmail asked for a password, last time I had this issue I went and logged to webmail account, my account, security, and generated an app password, popped that in the box and everything was fine.
    Trying to do the same again, hotmail no longer has the security option, it does have sync but no app password generator, spending some time on older links, I tried logging to my outlook account and security but see no options to generate a one time app password.
    the OS is windows 10, 22H2 the office suite is 2013, all the latest patches are installed but office I think is end of life as I cannot find any check for updates.
    Anyone know a work around, or way to get the app password?

    My dad is having issues with his Hotmail account the past couple of day's, 3 of my hotmail accounts are also failing. He's using Office Outlook as am i, the Windows Outlook app works perfectly though. I'm suspecting a infrastructure issue. I generated an app-password for him that worked twice and now also fails.

    Same here. It happens from time to time, suddenly it won't stop asking for your password.

    Happened to me like... 4 days ago I think.

    Gary,

    Thank you for providing a link that explains the current MS email POP-IMAP password problem that is plaguing us.
    My out-of-support MS Office Outlook 2007 has had intermittent password challenge dialogs for the last several days.
    Your link confirms that I need not waste my time fault-finding these problems.

    Email is working today which is good, does anyone know the method to get one time password for desktop outlook, looking to upgrade to 2019 and wondering if it will pick up accounts and passwords or if it will need new app passwords?

Not sure if this has been brought up, but is anyone else experiencing outages in outlook or Hotmail ? Been unable to access hotmail, for at least 5 hours.
