    1. Confirm that that Word is set to show Centimeters: File => Options => Advanced => Display => Show measurements in Centimeters.*

    2. Select (highlight) Text 1.

    3. Right-click and then click Paragraph.

    4. Under Spacing, set After to 4 cm and then click OK.

    5. Select (highlight) Text 2.

    6. Right-click and then click Paragraph.

7 Under Spacing, set After to 7 cm and then click OK.

    8.Select (highlight) Text 3.

    9. Under Spacing, set Before to 0 cm and then click OK.

    * When it comes to inter-paragraph spacing, I prefer working with Points. Also, in order to avoid having to manually set paragraph spacing throughout your document, I recommend creating custom Styles.

Why do I have to set the Spacing of Text 3 by Before to 0 cm?

Correction: Changing the measurements in Step 1 only changes the units in Indentation, not Spacing. You can use a Points to Cm converter to determine the correct value.

If you have Spacing set for Text 3 Above, then that adds to your total spacing amount between Text 2 and Text 3.

You are mistaken what line spacing means. Line spacing is the distance from the bottom of the current line to the top of the next line. That means to get the spacing you want you have to subtract the height of the text.

    For example:
    Spacing you want = 4 cm (113pts)
    Height of text = 1 cm (28pts)
    Word spacing then = 4 cm - 1 cm = 3 cm OR 113pts - 28pts = 85pts

Isn't it enough without have to do the step 9 by just do step 7. set under Spacing, set After to 7 cm and then click OK of the Text 2?

No, I'm not mistaken. I provided the "how to." You defined what spacing is (Nice illustration BTW).

Does the "Space before line set to 36pts" is a default space no matter what the font size is?
