Blurry ALT tab previews for MS Office 2021 Apps when not in desktop fo

    hi,

Something quite bizarre, just updated all apps on my new Win11 and noticed this one:

When you open something in excel, let's say you have other apps open, then you switch to them, then do ALT + TAB, then the preview that appears in the tab views (while you press ALT+TAB) is blurry.

However, if you go to the Desktop, with Win+D and then do ALT+tab again it looks fine only that time. Then if you are in excel and do again ALT + TAB blurry again.

did anyone ever solve it? is it some Nvidia setting perhaps? doing some heavy work on excel today and lot of ALT TAB and makes me dizzy for good!

fun fact: this only happens for Office apps (excel, word, etc), all other apps are fine all the time. Or is it like a "privacy" feature?

Office 2021, win10 PRO, previously i had win11 PRO and same thing 100% - could it be an NVIDIA thing? is there some special setting?

    thanks,

    hi there,

Been a while, was wondering if anyone had any luck in fixing these blurry ALT TAB previews with Office 2021 - could it be related to an NVIDIA card? was just thinking recently.

Have just updated my office365, sent Microsoft feedback numerous times but guess it's on the low prio list.

Must say, if you switch back and forth to an excel sheet with a LOT of ALT TAB, it's really annoying seeing that thing so blurry.

    thanks

I don't have that issue. It could be something do with scale/ resolution if not set correctly for your monitor. (Just guessing)/

    That is for Windows 10.

    I see you posted here:

So if you are really talking about windows 11 which I don't use then there's a clue here:

How to Enable Windowed Alt+Tab Experience in Windows 11

Here is how you can enable the windowed Alt+Tab experience in Windows 11. On January 6, Microsoft released Windows 11 build 22526 with several fixes and minor feature improvements. One of the changes is a slightly redesigned Alt + Tab experience. The operating system no longer blurs the entire background when you press Alt + Tab to switch between apps or tabs in Microsoft Edge. The UI now resembles the one Microsoft uses in Windows 10.
Now I don't know if that means desktop background or alt tab preview background.

    Negative, i said:

So this happened to me previously when i had Win11 PRO as well as now that i have Win10 Pro and another Win11 user confirmed that, as i posted there as well.

Do you have version 2021? I have Office 2016 on my other laptop and that one's fine.

    Gab

And also no i don't think has to do with scaling which is set to 100% as every other APP is perfectly fine.

    Edge, Explorer, etc etc

    it's just Office 2021's
