ms crashed, local shop got it going again, now outlook broke

Howdy, thanks in advance for your help. Since the shop got my pc working again I can't paste into an email. I've found fixes but they all require using the 'file' and 'editor' options. I don't have a file or editor button. I can't even find my version of outlook. Any help appreciated.

    thank you

What happen to the computer that the local shop got it fixed?
Is your drive a HDD or SSD?

    Lets do the basic
Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    chkdsk c: /f
It will say your disk is in use and ask if you want to schedule to next start = yes
    Restart

Back to Windows, open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    sfc /scannow

If it finds any corrupted files, fixing or not, reboot and run again

    Then run
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    and
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

To find the Outlook version, on my Outlook, on top menu, I hit File - help - about
What version of Outlook do I have

I will definitely try what you've suggested but I have to restate that there is no file option on my display. Also I found on the web that you can have outlook operate online or offline. I thin k I am online now but used be offline. Any way to change that?

I take it you mean windows crashed as i doubt MS did. Outlook has a repair feature found in its entry in the Control panel /Programs and features.

Something is really wrong. the only option I have in the programs/features is to uninstall. which I did and nothing changed.. the ribbon is missing, the ribbon button is missing and I can't find a way to put them back or update outlook.

Since none of us know what flavour (let alone version) of Outlook you have, you'd better supply some screen shots showing what you have.

No 'file option' in which program? If Outlook, then a screenshot...
