Outlook.com account treats EVERY email as spam and junks it instantly?

Been an MS 365 (Outlook.com) acct holder for many years and set up Outlook.com for my wife and son some years ago.

My son's acct has been a disaster - where years ago when he was in his tweens - we allowed email but had some fairly extensive rules in place to keep the crap out of his eyesight for as long as we could.

As he aged out - in 2021 I dropped all the rules and assumed that his Outlook.com acct would go the other way - where EVERYTHING would pile into his inbox and now as an 18 year old - he can decide what is spam and what is not.

But his acct is acting bizarre - with no rules in place - it seems that every email he gets is being automatically sent to the SPAM/Junk area regardless of who sends it - normal legit stuff like from his school or even from me to the most annoying casino and milf ads.

Getting MS Support on this is impossible so I am wondering what exactly am I missing here? Outlook.com mail setup is about as straight forward as it gets but my wifes Outlook.com and mine do not behave like this. It's almost as if there is some other filter or something in play that is treating everything like spam.

    Thoughts?

    Sonic.

Is he mentioned in the family settings section of either of your accounts?

Check Settings / Junk mail / Only trust e-mails from addresses in my Safe senders and domains list.

This means if you don't safe-list a person's email or an entire domain (*.amazon.com) -- then it's junked.
Uncheck it to allow all e-mails, or add a list of friendly e-mail addresses or known domains (your son's school).

This was it. And I was certain I turned that off long ago. Off now and hopefully clears this up.
