Replace picture from clipboard, GONE!

Hi, took my time searching the web for solutions but couldn't find anything that explains, or solves this issue. During my search found multiple forum threads from people with the same issue, along with the usual... nonsense explanations that didn't solve anything, specially official tech advice from brands.

This option vanished


I was working on a multipage document with images containing text errors, so it was easy to just copy / fix on photoshop / copy / comeback and replace from clipboard, as this would keep the image size and proportions. I've done this in the past over and over, but in this case after using this option for about 5 days, suddenly one day out of the blue the option was gone.

Windows and Office updates are not only turned off, I also took my time to block them both, so, I don't understand what happened. For a moment wondered if this was a document based issue, so I opened other documents where I did the same and the option was also gone, tried a new document... same luck.

Curious about this, went after my Surface with Office (with this option previously active), this device had been turned off more than a month without Internet access, and without using Office, so it made sense to me, that if this was caused by any hidden update, my Surface would not be affected. Turned on the Surface without Internet access and turns out the option was also gone from the menu.

Does this sound familiar? did you ever faced this weird issue? did you solve it? how?
