    Ms office 2021 wont install to different location.


    Hi First time here posting so dont bite please.
    XUM legend pc, Windows 10 home 22H2 , Intel i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 16gb 12tb hard drives.

    I have just recently bought a new pc which has a 256gb NVME SSD. I have 12tb of space on other drives so have created a separate installs drive for all installations especially large ones. I went onto my Microsoft account to download and install but once you click install its an automatic process which I don't have any control over. I contacted support who sent me a download image to install but when I ran this it does the exact same thing piles everything onto drive C. Is there any way I can get the program moved across can the startup.exe be changed or a bat file ? be made to change the location.

    Probably not so wise to do..

    "You can change the Install Directory, but it is not suggested. You can only do this by changing the default ProgramFilesDir in the registry. Please consider all that this will do. For example, it will break your installation of Google Chrome and probably many other things. There is probably a reason that page has this posted at the top:

    "Microsoft does not support changing the location of the Program Files folder by modifying the ProgramFilesDir registry value"

    Thank you I will look into that. I did finally find i could change the install by going to system / storage and changing there but it didnt make any difference when i tried to install office there. so thanks for your helpful hint.
