Office Excel 2010 Says "Read Only" but its not

Having a problem with Office Excel 2010 trying to edit and save changes to an Excel file.
Im not able to save any changes because a meessage pops up that says that "this file is Read Only but i can save a copy under a different name."
The problem is that when i opeen properties, "Read Only" is not checked.

I am also having a problem wrestling control of the "C" drive into my posession.
I have worked on this for about 4 hrs today with no sucess. I have tried so mant things that i cant reemember them all, but, it may be connected to the Excel problem because i get an error message that says "A required privelage is not held by the client"
But, i will post this problem in another part of the Forum

What do you mean, "a problem wrestling control of the "C" drive into my posession."?
There is never any need to act on the whole of the C:\ drive and I wonder if whatever you've done might be causing the Excel file problem.

Since you have now created the thread
How do i Gain Control of "C" Drive
I suggest that you use it for the whole problem including this Excel aspect of it.

This is possible. But; "There is never any need to act on the whole of the C:\ drive" is an ignorant statement.
If i want to have files on my C drive that are acessable to me, that is my buisness.
My question is not weather you think it is a good idea or not.

Since you now responded to this thread, I suggest you read the other thread i made today in the
"Accounts and security" section about the C drive.
