What is easiest way to get data from Windows Explorer to Excel

I need to get files from Windows Explorer filesnames into Excel. Cut/paste doesn't work. If I can select all and get the explorer files into a CSV file or some other list as text I can do what I want.

If what you want is to get the paths & filenames into Excel then
    - select all the files,
    - press the Shift key as you right-click,
    - select Copy as path,
    - paste into Excel.

The whole drive - folder path - filename - file extension will always get pasted in using this method so there's some tidying up to do if you don't want all of it.

    That WORKS!

Thanks so much. Your method will save me lots of time. I have thousands of data in Explorer. Using your method then "Data/text to columns" I can do exactly what I need. I can parse out the data needed.

    Hello @lbeck,

Just for your curiosity, you might also find these useful . . .

    > Copy path - Add to Context Menu in Windows 10
    > Add Copy Contents to Clipboard to Context Menu in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.
