Helps to know if there is a third party Internet Security software being used, what email provider you are using.
No third party security software that I know of, as for providers, that particular message came through my Century Link account but I also have GMail and Yahoo doing the same thing. I'm sure it's a setting since I was initially getting that message after saving the documents and trying to open them in word (powerpoint was doing this also), then I went in the trust center and enabled everything they said was "not recommended" and that got me able to open files I saved, I just can't open them while attached to the message.
It seems to me it has to do with this setting, anyone know how to get it out of default?

I found it, it was this setting. I misunderstood the setting and thought to check all the boxes but now that I've unchecked them all it now lets me open files.
