Outook 2013 spell check no longer detects mis-spellings

Has anyone else had issues with the spell checker?

Even in the document main window mis-spelled words are not underlined.

I have searched the web, and followed all the instructions for all the ways to fix this issue, but nothing worked to restore the spell checker.

1 You have checked Outlook, Options, Mail format, Message format that you have not suddenly switched to Plain text format?

Outlook 2007 dialog - I don't have Outlook 2013 to show you but I understand it is similar.

2 You have checked the settings in Outlook, Options, Mail format, Editor options, Proofing including checking the Dictionary you are using?

3 I do not understand what you mean by document main window.

4 My para 2 check should therefore also be done for Word itself if Word files are also not being spellchecked.

5.1 While you are in Word, select some whole words then click on the Ribbon's Review tab then click on Set language. Make sure your intended language is shown as selected then click on Cancel to get out of it.
5.2 The equivalent check in Outlook needs you to create an email then, on the main Tab called the Message Tab, click on the dropdown arrow on the Spelling icon, select Set language. Make sure your intended language is shown as selected then click on Cancel to get out of it.
