how do i get rid of it. every time i open it appears and i click to bin it, when will it take the effing hint? all my Bin icons etc had suddenly moved to the right of the subject header too, can i move them back to the left?

It is not telling you to update Outlook, it is letting you know that you have a option to go with Office 365 which gives you a cloud based option and another email account to deal with.
I pay for 365 so that I can have a personalized mailbox, Cloud storage for stuff and a product that is constantly kept up to date at a lower price.

You cannot while using a Microsoft product. When I have seen it it is so small on the bottom that I never even notice it.
i have that and it's set to Roomy already. the thing at the bottom corner has now vanished but i still get the ad every time i open.
