Hi there
Any decent EXCEL function or VBS script which can read RECURSIVELY all the directories on a given disk, all the files in those directories together with size, last updated, date of creation and store in any of the excel formats -- even CSV is OK. The problem seems to be if the file name / directory has spaces, double quote, semi colon, full stop or quotation makes in its name.

Any version of EXCEL from 2010 will do -- although if one needs a VBS script for this then later versions of excel e.g 365 or 2019 would be better.

I'm sure some Excel Gurus probably have done this lots of times before but I'm struggling with it.

Edit -- finally found the answer in an old book from Mr EXCEL -- from data tab --> Get and transform-> new query->from file and from dialog box choose folder and then data plus meta data is created. (click load)

OK it's per folder but it's good enough -- I can probably create a macro to go down all the folders on a disk to do the whole disk -- would like each folder to be in a different worksheet and each disk to be on a brand new excel file. Gives me something to do this weekend.

Cheers
