    Hi @JO69.

You didn't clearly state that changing to Vertical was source of error

Sorry if I didn't make myself plain. I just wanted it back to scrolling down in word not viewing 2 pages like a book.
    Followed the instructions.
Now even my older word docs are 2 pages across as well! Not doing very well am I !

Couldn't access AppData through the C Users dont know why
I know why. That's why I gave you the full path to enter so you would not face that problem.

So did everything you all said' Clicked the One page icon.
Did you make a change afterwards, as I suggested, before saving it?

    I just changed the font
Didn't know what else I should change. As the page scrolled downwards as I wanted.

    Jo,

I don't know why you mention scrolling. I'm concerned that I'm missing something about what you are doing.

And the Word title bar did confirm that the open file was normal.dotm?

Changing a font should achieve the same as any other change such as entering a simple space.

You can use the same procedure for individual files [as shown in an earlier post] but I thought it best to attack the template first.

And the Word title bar did confirm that the open file was normal.dotm? I don't know where to look. Something is wrong now as all my old docs are side by side pages now. And there is no ribbon on the top for me to try to edit them

Look in the middle of the titlebar at the bit I've circled in green. That tells you which file is open in Word.

Look at the left-hand end of the titlebar at the down-arrow I've circled in red above [and in the diagram below].
I think you have clicked on that and then selected Minimize the ribbon in the dropdown that appears.

You can just do that again and click on Minimize the ribbon again to undo that setting and allow the ribbon to appear once more.

    All the best,

Have used word for years but just opened it made notes and saved it. Never had any problems. It's very frustrating as I don't know what to do and you're all so willing to help.

And once this awkwardness is dealt with you'll have many more years of using Word without problems.

Have you resolved the filename in TitleBar & Ribbon issues now? [post #17]

    All the best,

Am not at home so will look 1st thing on the morning and report back. Everything I learn I always save afterwards. Hopefully things will get sorted

Clicked the arrow at the top where you said
But how do I make it stay?
As soon as I close word it disappears and in my older Word docs its not there at all
