How to save my recently unsaved long msg from my frozen 2016 Outlook?

[W10, MS Outlook 2016, Lenovo laptop. I was told to remove any AVs but all I have now is Windows' Defender that came with my laptop]. As to Windows Version I have this in my email and I can't open it now......

Hello, I wrote a long message full of researched stuff so it's imperative for me to save it. Wen I finished this message I had to leave and...forgot to save it. On returning, Outlook was all frozen up as well as Word and I couldn't do anything at all.

In my desperation to save this long message, I searched and searched and I came across this answer by TenForums from last August 2021.

My question: If I apply this fix will it leave alone my message, or will it delete it?:

Repair Outlook. The Outlook application may be damaged. Use the built-in Microsoft Office repair utility to fix it.

    1. Close all Office applications.
    2. Go to Start > Control Panel.
    3. Select Category View.
    4. In the Programs section, select Uninstall a Program.
    5. Right-click Microsoft Office and choose Change.
    6. Select Online Repair or Repair. Choose Yes if a user account control prompt appears.
    7. Restart Outlook after the process completes.
Or, should I try other ways that hopefully someone in this thread might offer? I anticipate my BIG THANK YOU for any help. I did learn my lesson to never leave unfinished messages without saving first, but for this particular case I beg you kind and knowledgeable souls to please help me get my message back? :)

Did you send the message? If so, it is in your Sent email file.
Online Repair will repair Outlook but it will not recover any Emails that were not sent or deleted that are not in your In Box now.

IF you can view the entire message on your screen... take a screenshot.

There are quite a few (free) image to text, online services.

Hello and thank you spunk, I understand what you say, but no, it didn't allow me to send or do ANYTHING in MS Outlook. It froze the pages called: "Home" and other messages that were open. The one I need to save got frozen only the first 7 lines and the rest...God knows where it is. Word is not frozen but everything else is. If I knew for sure my message could not be saved, I'd just try anything to unfreeze it regardless of losing the rest of open emails, but I'm afraid to lose this particular message and that's why I'm asking for help. :)

On the message you want to save, select all text (Ctrl+a) then copy (Ctrl+c). Open Word and paste ((Ctrl+v)

Hello Ghot, the only page I'm interested to save shows only the first 7 lines of my long message. Since I was using this page as a draft before sending, there's nothing else on it expect this part of my message. I saw in the internet various ways to unfreeze MS Outlook (and some of them too complicated for me to try (tech dummy!)). However I would try them except I'm afraid it'll delete my message. I don't know what to do. It will take me another 3 or 4 days to put together this special message..... Thanks so much for trying to help.

P.S. Since I can't open MS Outlook, I didn't see TenForums replies. How can I add **REMOVED** here so I get them? Otherwise I'll continue coming here from time to time?

Under Settings > Email & Password... you can enter an email. That will be the one your Ten Forum account is associated with.
Under Settings > General Settings... you can choose what email notifications you'll receive.

Don't post your email in a post or topic. ^^

You could try to open Outlook in safe mode... Press and hold Ctrl key, and start Outlook, it will ask you if you want to start it in safe mode...

Not sure if it helps, but worth a try. Check in "Drafts" folder.

if you want to be safe, before anything you try, make a system image of your drive - then you can restore it back and start fresh. Could be time consuming, but safe...

Thanks so much! It doesn't allow ANYTHING to be done on the frozen pages. Out of desperation I try anything so I went to my message and started with Control A but...nothing moved nor showed.

Thank you so much Andre, but I read somewhere that no matter what you do to unfreeze it, it'll delete any unsaved mails whether frozen or unfrozen. So being odds are pretty poor to get my message and my skill to fix tech things just as poor (especially to "make a system image of your drive", lol!) I decided to doggedly start my message all over again. But I want to thank you and all the other wonderful members in this thread for your real wish to help me in this kind of impossible riddle. :)

P.S. To Brink and Ghot, sorry for writing my other email addy. I know better but thought a little exception might be possible....

@Adela, starting Outlook in safe mode is no big techie thing. if you are starting the mail all over again (write it in Word first, Word is making frequent backups of written file), then this couldn't mess anything up...

    Just try it
