How select MS Office 2021 licence for specific computer?

I have several customers - mostly small companies with several users (ten, twenty...), not big enough to be able buy any multi licence.

Every company have its own MS Account which i am using for all new computers, but only for activating MS Office. This account is never used for anything else.

It cannot be personalized - a cannot use MS Account with personal email, because computers can be given to someone else during its life cycle.

But now only Microsoft Office 2021 is available.

MS Office 2021 brought one big change - in Microsoft Live ID account in list of subscriptions cannot be obtained licence number anymore. It only displays message "When you want to activate Office, open an Office application such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint and sign in to your account."

I can do it - if i log in with MS Account, activate it and then i log it out. MS Office did not display any information about selected licence. Nothing. Activation was succesful, but nothing more happened.

Will it display something when i will have more licences/subsriptions available?

How can i be sure - which licence is used where?

How can i select same licence in future, during reinstall. Is it written in UEFI on computer?

How can i properly register licence + computer in my database for future verification?

In past i had control at least through that licence number. Now i have nothing.

Should i create unique MS Account for every computer? Is it only way?

I do not want multiple activations.

My licence doesn't allow it. It is not "home & student" licence, but it is little more expensive "small business" or whatever it is called in english.

I found it - licences which i am using are "Office Home & Business 2021" and Microsoft says specifically "One-time purchase for 1 PC or Mac"

I want be exactly sure which licence is on which computer and be able determine it.

    I tried it.

Nice utility, it extracted W10 Pro licence properly, but doesn't work for MS Office 2021. It didn't found MS Office at all.

I don't understand why you are making things more complicated than need be. If it were me I would be using volume license versions of Office LTSC 2021. The choices are:
    • Office LTSC Standard 2021
    • Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021

For each customer (company) I would buy the number of activations needed. This would include just one MAK Product Key for activation. That way all the computers for that company would be activated by the same Product Key. Activation is done using the Microsoft activation servers.

I think you misunderstand this. If you use MAK keys there is no minimum number of activations you need to buy at one time. If you need more activations in the future you can always buy more. Using MAK keys also has the advantage that all computers would have the same Product Key.

For a company with multiple copies of Office LTSC 2021 I would not being buying it retail. I would be buying it through an official Microsoft Volume License distributor. That way you know everything you buy is legal.

Yes, I know about this script. I used it several times for older versions MS Office 2013/2016... but it propably doesn't work with MS Office 2021.

I am not totally sure. It seems, it is only existing ospp.vbs script on that PC, and it seems it is part of preinstalled trial version of MS Office (which i didn't removed before), but doesn't exists in version 2021 anymore. I wasn't able to find another ospp.vbs script anywhere else.

Interesting thing is - grace period is still the same independently on fact if i am logged in MS Account or not. So i presume it have no relationship to the MS Office 2021. But it counting down during time (on two different computers it is same). So we will see in two or three days.

Maybe someone else with MS Office 2021 can confirm it?

Maybe because Microsoft did it more confusing?

I already have new licences registered in MS Account. Maybe next time i will consider other possibilities.

    Yes, i didn't knew that.

Legality definitely wasn't problem. I am very sure my licences are legal.
