    Install of Office 2000 - Error 1904 - MSOLAP.DLL Failed to Register

I'm trying to install Office 2000 (a licensed copy) on a Windows 10 machine running Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1237

The process runs for a while and then displays an error message:

    Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\DB\MSOLAP.DLL Failed to Register/ HRESULT - 2147024714. Contact your support personnel.

With your able assistance, I am my support personnel.

    What do I do next?

    thanks

    Hi,

Try to start the installer in compatibility mode, I can still install VB6 that way.

You are trying to install 20 year old software on a modern OS?

There comes a point where you have to put old software out of its misery. Alternatively, you could try installing an older OS in a virtual machine and running it in that (not connecting to internet of course).

TBH, you probably have more luck using something like Libreoffice as it will be more up to date.
