I've just got the latest update to MS365 and maybe this was true on the last version - I cant remember - but I notice in the top right of the window it says I'm logged into my account.

Is there anyway of using Word etc without logging into my account?

    Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2110 Build 16.0.14527.20270) 64-bit

    Thanks

You do not need to be logged in all the time e.g. so you can use Office when not connected to internet. However, you do need to login periodically for Office to remain fully active say once a month or so.

You do not need to be logged into Windows with an MS account i.e. you can still login with local account.

Of course you need an MS account to install., activate, run Office 365.

    Thanks for the reply.

Windows is set for a Local Account when I power on but as soon as you launch Word or Excel it will log you on to your MS account within these programs. Windows still stays as Local.

However, if you sign out of your MS Account from within Word then it will only function as a viewer or to print files.

Yes, you can use Office when not connected to the Internet but this is not practical all the time.

Just discovered that if you have Windows set as a Local Account, when you log in to MS within Word to get it working it also logs Windows in so you need to go back and set it to Local Account again if that's what you want.
