    Uninstall Microsoft office 2019

I had a computer with Microsoft office 2019 on it. The system crashed with the dreaded blue screen with a message mode exception not handled. I was told the system is shot. I need to deactivate the Microsoft Office 2019 so that I Can reinstall it on the new system. I have an old laptop with Windows Vista on it. Can I dual boot the Vista laptop with the hard drive containing the Windows 10 home to try to deactivate Office. Microsoft told me that office has to be deactivated before it can be reinstalled.

    Hi,

If you have your legitimate Office Installation Key, you don't need to do any of this, decommission the current computer, Install office on the new one, use your Key to activate, At this point if anything goes wrong, try the automated phone activation service.

If all fails CALL the support and tell them an Elephant sat on the old machine and it's already deactivated enough.

In the first place I cant believe they told you that, 99% of machines dies with activated software on them ???? and I never have problem re-activating their license...

If you only had it installed on that one PC you will be good. By license you can install 2019 on two machines before you have to call Microsoft to tell them to deactivate one to use it on a new one. I've done this myself a couple of times. I found out when I tried to install on a third, and was shown the "max installs hit" message, but contacting MS was quick.

@Bobby Phoenix, and much more, MS will wait to have your # popping up in their "illegal" activation stats before blocking it.

And you could go further with phone activation.

I activated an old 98 completely googled ID last week, by phone W7 is still tougher to behold... but you can still activate any live Win10 with it...

Windows is basically FREE for every machines that already had it.

And office is even looser. I know companies who used innumerable copies of the same office pro until they where financially able to cut a deal with ms and jump to VL in one day... MS took 7 mins to answer back......................... How many computers ?... How much... Thanks...

One of them was really caught by MS and a week after Law suits where coming from Norton, Winzip, Seagate, lolll....

I tough the guy was dead.... But no, he made a deal with all of them and His company is pretty much blooming right now...

So if MS strangles a single "alone Genuine" client out there... It would be a big surprise.

As I recall my installations, Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2016 had information in the EULA about installing on a workstation [computer] and a portable device [Notebook] in charge of the same person but not used both at the same time.
