Outlook - automatically delete IMAP messages from server?

Hi. This used to happen on my old PC, but I am in the middle of setting up a new PC and cannot remember how to do this (and haven't found the solution online, yet..). Hope someone can help.

I use Outlook 2007 (fine for my needs), together with 'Mailwasher Pro' (which shows mail on the server, with the possibility of deleting messages before downloading them to the PC)..

POP email is fine: once I download the email, it is removed from the server and no longer appears in the Mailwasher list. IMAP emails remain after being downloaded to Outlook, and unless I manually check the box next to each message on mailWasher and select'delete', I soon end up with a very long list of old emails still on the server which I have already downloaded into Outlook and read.

How do I set things up so that the IMAP messages behave as POP emails - once in Outlook, they are removed rom the server? As I say. it worked like that on the old PC but I can't see how I did this.

    Thanks!

Have you enabled the "Purge Options"

Thanks, I did.. it didn't seem to make any difference to hat stayed on the server, so I turned the option off again. Maybe I didn't give it a chance.. I'll try again.

You must switch folders while on line to trigger the event, I dont think Mailwasher Pro should interfere in that process.

Looks as if the messages go after I close Outlook - which is fine. I am not sure why it wasn't happening before (maybe I thought I had the 'purge' box checked, but didn't??). Thanks.
