Outlook 365 New mail icon appears

    Outlook 365 New mail icon appears


    Win 10 20H2 OS Build 19042.1237
    I am running Outlook 365 Version 2108 (Build 14326.20404) on desktop and laptop. A new feature, New Mail icon, appeared on my laptop a month or so ago in the folder pain but is does not appear on the desktop PC.
    Why the difference when PC & laptop both have same version and build of Outlook and same version update of Win10.
    How can I hide it or turn off option as it takes up valuable space in the mail folder window.
    This seems to be the same annoying feature that was in Outlook 3 years ago but was removed
    Any help appreciated

    Can you post a picture of that new icon? It is not clear to me what New mail icon looks loike, and where it appears

    I have the same version of Office 365, so can test this, but can't replicate your view exactly

    You have "Auto-hide Ribbon" selected. Select sopme other option to show only part of a ribbon

    I dont have Auto hide ribbon selected but do have Show tabs selected. If I select Show tabs & commands then the additional icon is not shown. I dont have access to my desktop PC for a few weeks but will check that again when I am able and see if I have "tabs and commands set on that" or "show tabs"

    edit your post... scroll down and click on manage attachments, click on small cross on the picture..

    Strange...

    You can delete it from settings (your page ) - in top right corner

    Attachments are way down.. you'll find it. After you find this in settings page, select desired picture (mark it on the right side) and click on delete
