Microsoft Outlook 2019 failed to download GMAIL POP Email

I have tried to configure my Microsoft Outlook 2019 to download my Google Suite Email via POP settings.
I have turn on all the setting in Google Suite Admin settings and Google Gmail settings to enable all the POP is turn ON.

But then Microsoft Outlook 2019 does not seem to like to work with Google Suite POP settings.
Please advise the rectifications. I don't want to use IMAP.

    Thanks

The account may require an app specific password as Google now use 2-step authentication.
They may also have disabled pop access.
    Is pop enabled?

Every settings in the POP and IMAP is enabled without any problems in Google Suite. It just Microsoft Outlook 2019 does not want to download the email in POP Settings.

It will be the email account settings.

MS Outlook tries to be too smart for it's own good, and tries to "interpret" what the POP/IMAP and SMTP servers are going to be.

Consequently, it tries to make the server settings based on the domain name of the email address (thinking the only email addresses everyone has are ISP domain named.

So, in the event of Gmail Suite addresses, it will set the mails servers as the @domain name part of your email address.

Why don't you change over the SMTP. All you have to dois go into your Gmail account settings (through Gmail) and change Settings (the cog wheel, top RH) > See all settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > down to IMAP access and select the button Enable IMAP

The change your MS Outlook settings for your GMail suite account to
    imap.gmail.com + Port 993 + Connection security SSL/TLS + Authentication OAuth2
    smtp.gmail.com + Port 465 + same as above

MS Outlook's attempts to do the user a favour are out of control and just plain bloody annoying - as well as GSuite accounts, I have an ISP domain name email (@ozemail.com.au) but it is not my connected ISP (TPG). Everytime I (used to) set up MS Outlook, it set the outgoing server as smtp.ozemail.com.au, which didn't exist and in any case, TPG doesn't relay outgoing email (i.e. send outgoing emails through another ISP's server .... even though TPG now owns ozemail !!!!). MS Outlook still did this every time, even though I chose the option to set up the account manually.

Needless to say, MS Outlook just languishes as an unnecessary piece of software on my drive, with the icon deleted from the Start menu. That'll teach 'em to piss me off!!

Thunderbird rulez - 1 ISP email account, 1 non-ISP domain name email account, 4 GSuite (now known as Google Workspace) email accounts, and 4 normal GMail accounts.

I’d try creating an app specific password:

    Hi miriboy

I just finished a Clean Install of 21H1 and then setup Outlook365 for 5 email accounts including a Gmail service. Although I've used IMAP, setting Outlook for POP isn't much different.

Load your Gmail account using a web browser, go to settings, click 'See all settings", and then select the "Forwarding & POP/IMAP tab. Configure the settings in the POP download area & then click the link at the bottom "Configuration Instructions".

The Configuration instructions window will reveal all of the necessary POP settings to be set in your Outlook email Client.

That should allow you to use the Outlook Client (POP) for Gmail.

When I've used 2 factor authentication with Gmail on Outlook. I was forced to authenticate using a code texted to my phone every time I launched my Outlook Client. Great for security but far too much effort for my interest.

I know Thunderbird rulez as it works but I would like to configure POP in MS Outlook 2019
    As for your statement:
    imap.gmail.com + Port 993 + Connection security SSL/TLS + Authentication OAuth2

There is no "Authentication OAuth2" settings available. Please show. Thanks

OK, if you're going to use POP then the email server should be pop.gmail.com

If there is no OAuth2 option available, just accept/OK the Authentication optionthat is shown. Then you can go back into the settings and an OAuth2 option should then be available. Change to that.

Any particular reason why you don't want to use IMAP?

Yes did all that and it didn't work :)
I want to download all my emails into my single laptop and that is why I don't opt for IMAP.

Then I think it's an MS Outlook "thing". I don't (or rather, refuse to!!) use MS Outlook so I can't help you any further without access to Outlook's settings options.

    Sorry.

EDIT : Have you changed the email type option in your web page Gmail account settings to IMAP, even though you want POP in MS Outlook. Seems you might have to do this anyway?

Also, when you set it up in MS Outlook, did you get a pop-up from GMail asking you to verify permission for Outlook to access your email?
