Outlook 365 constantly hangs when switching inboxes

Have three accounts running in Office 365. I am currently running the current channel preview. Ever since Office Insider Current Channel v2108 build 14326.20282 was upgraded Outlook consistently hangs for between 20 and 30 seconds when switching between the inboxes and any other folder. Anyone else seeing this issue. Have had it occur on two different computers both running Windows 10 Pro 21H2 19044.116. My main system is a Surface Laptop, 16GB memory, 512GB SSD. Do not see this issue with any other Office app.

To what extent do you use the facilities other than email, in Outlook ? If it's just email, you might like to consider other options.

At the risk of offending the MS purists, you could try
    - Thunderbird from Mozilla (free, multiple accounts, no limits)
    - eM Client (free up to 2 accounts, paid version multiple accounts)

If you've got email SMTP accounts, you can run them in parallel to Outlook to see if you like. Deleting them will not affect your emails.

Have used Outlook since the first version, never used any other email app, and most likely at this point won't. Use a lot of the functionality in Outlook as it's my main business email, calendar, contact application. But appreciate the suggestion, although it doesn't solve my problem at present.

Well, for me at least it's Outlook and specifically Version 2108 (Build 14326.20238 Click-to-Run) Current Channel and Preview Channel. First appeared on my SurfaceBook about a week ago, tried repairing both quick and long... no good. Uninstalled, cleaned the system, reinstalled,...same issue. Then it was on to my Surface laptop (gen1). Same exact issue, same version Windows, same version Office 365. Went to one of my test bench Lenovo's, Same version Windows same version Office 365... GUESS WHAT!!! no more lag or hang...WHAT!!! say it ain't so...could it possibly be something with Surface hardware...naaaa, couldn't be. Well...maybe it is. Just for giggles I pulled mu new Surface Laptop 3 which is running Windows 11 21H1 22000.168, which had a load of Office 365, indicated it had updates, so...with breath held I let it update, and sure as I type this, it installed Version 2108 (Build 14326.20238 Click-to-Run) and WALA...lag and hang. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!! Am I missing something, is the new version of 365 not compatible with Surface hardware? Asking for a friend, all suggestions welcome.

All good. My main reason for posting was that I come across so many users in so many forums having problems with MS Outlook and all it's machinations and foibles, and the only reason they use it is for emails.

And they started using it simply because it was the in-your-face pop-out option that was offered when they first turned on the computer.

If the need for an email client is just for, say, a personal email account and a couple of web-based accounts, there are the much more simpler options.
