    Home vs Business for home user.

    I have a 365 Family subscription. I'm just wondering if I would gain anything from a business subscription on my personal home PC. I can see that the business subscriptions come with a range of added security features. Are these of any use for a home user?

    Hi there

    @Kol12

    It depends on what you do -- for purely home use I'd say just keep your money -- most security problems on Home computers come via Scams, dubious websites, opening unknown email attachments and giving out too much info on social media websites.

    If you are running a business from home with customers (even say a tiny part time business with only around 5 - 10 customers) and any sort of e-commerce which includes financial transactions then the business version might be more appropriate.

    Cheers

    There are no benefits at all that I can see; it's just throwing money away.

    Thanks for the replies. Can the home subscriptions be custom installed with the office deployment tool? (Say I only want to install Word and Excel) Or is it too much hassle?

    I'm not aware of any method to custom installing office. It's always been a pet peeve of mine with Office 365. In years past, I've had smaller sized SSD's and would rather not take up space for apps I knew I wasn't going to use, but they still get installed. I'm going to install a copy to my test Windows 11 box, I'll see today if maybe anything has changed.
