I was taking some college classes 10 years ago so bought Microsoft University Office for $99. Note it was the same as Microsoft Office 2010 Professional. One nice thing about Office 2010 is that you could install it on two devices. If the 1st device was a desktop then 2nd device had to be a laptop. I think that was the last version of standalone Office that allowed that.

    Hi there
I still have Office 2010 VL (Volume License) from the old Technet subscription --remember that -- was excellent value for money - no wonder Ms shut it down.!!

Those keys are still valid so if I'm creating new W10 / W11 VM's I don't have to worry about not having an activated version of Office on the system. I've Office 2019 on primary Windows but on the VM's apart from one I have Office 2010. The OS should protect against security and of course when using email be sensible -- don't open dubious attachments etc etc.

Even as quite a power user of EXCEL I can't say there's anything I can't do with Office 2010. So until it stops working I'm continuing to use it on machines where I need another installation of Office. The Technet VL keys are good for around 500 activations or more I believe !!!!!

    Cheers
